THE PRIVATE EQUITY INDUSTRY IN FINLAND
In 2009, the private equity firms located in Finland made 350 new investments into 230 portfolio companies. The value of investments amounted to 362 million euros. The largest number of investments were made into the venture capital stage (Nbr 257, 82 M€) whereas the buyout stage attracted the most capital invested (Nbr 93, 280 M€).
Finnish private equity firms made 114 divestments in 2009. The value of divestments was 121 million euros at cost.
