Finnish Venture Capital Association


The Finnish Venture Capital Association was established in 1990. The actual members of the association are entities acting in the Finnish private equity and venture capital markets. FVCA accepts as its associate members communities or private individuals who play a part in the development of the industry in Finland. The number of members at the moment is 40 full and 50 associate members.

The private equity fund Vaaka Partners Buyout Fund II Ky raised in total EUR 150 million of commitments from first class domestic and international investors. The investment strategy of the fund is to significantly grow Finnish mid-market companies both in Finland and internationally.

06.06.2013 Sponsor Capital Oy and Espotel's Management Have Purchased Espotel Oy

Sponsor Capital Oy and Espotel’s management have on June 5, 2013, purchased the whole share capital of Espotel Oy. The sellers include the founders of Espotel; Pertti Kauppinen, Tapio Uimonen and Ilkka Korhonen as well as Espotel’s minority shareholders. The founders will remain as shareholders in Espotel after the transaction.

04.06.2013 CapMan completes exit from Cardinal Foods

Funds managed by CapMan have completed the exit from Cardinal Foods AS as announced on 3 April 2013. CapMan funds sold their equity stakes in Cardinal Foods to a company formed by Swedish agricultural cooperative Lantmännen Group and private equity firm CapVest. The investment in Cardinal Foods has been excellent for investors in CapMan’s funds.
